Local Habitat for Humanity chapter elects new board chair


El Dorado Habitat for Humanity has announced the election of Jennifer Hamilton as its new board chair, effective Sept. 18.

According to a release from the organization, Hamilton is a longtime board member and brings valuable leadership and community commitment to her new position. The board also noted its appreciation for outgoing chair Cheryl Splawn for her tremendous work for the past two and a half years. Splawn will continue serving as a board member.

El Dorado Chapter of Habitat for Humanity has been active since September 1988 and was the first affiliate in Arkansas.

The local chapter has built 41 homes in El Dorado, providing affordable and adequate housing to households including more than 100 children in the community.
