Don Cody, 88, of Calion, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017. He was born May 8, 1929 to Gilbert C. Cody, Sr. and Anna Dolores Shank Cody in Willows, Oklahoma.

He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Korean War on the USS Los Angeles, a graduate of Oklahoma State University, and was a fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys. Don started his career as a sales representative and then became a District Manager for Allstate Insurance Company, and owner of his Allstate Agency. He enjoyed golf, fishing, computer games, crossword puzzles, and traveling. He had a great sense of humor and was a kind and generous man.

Preceding him in death are his parents; brother, Gilbert Cody, Jr.; and two sisters, Louise Witworth and Delores Huddleston.

Survivors include his wife, Anne Cody of Calion; sister, Virginia Austin of Denver, Colorado; eight nephews and nieces, David, Alan, Bill, Ann, Robert, Jennifer, Terry, Mike; two, step-children, Catherine and Michael; and two step-grandchildren, William and Rachel.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 at Young’s Chapel with the Rev. Keith Dodson officiating. A Celebration of Life Reception will follow from 3 until 6 p.m. at the El Dorado Country Club.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 419 S. Madison, El Dorado, AR 71730, or the charity of donor’s choice.
