TEXARKANA - El Dorado's varsity girls found a way to win Monday, pushing through Texarkana 45-37 in a game postponed from earlier in the season. The Lady Wildcats improved to 5-9 on the season.
Adrianne Larry scored 15 points with three rebounds to lead El Dorado. Larry hit 5-of-6 at the free throw line and knocked down a pair of big 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.
"Adrianne Larry is a huge reason why we won the game," said El Dorado coach Destinee Rogers. "She stayed positive and was a big-time leader the whole game. We struggled all the way until the fourth quarter. Possibly the worst game we've played all year. But, they kept fighting. I'm proud that they dug deep and found a way to win, even if it was ugly. It was a win and we will take it.
"Proud of the fight in this team. Kie'arra was also huge for us on the block. She finished well and rebounded the ball the way we needed her to."
The game was knotted at 7-7 after one quarter. Texarkana led 20-16 at the half. El Dorado outscored the Lady Razorbacks 18-4 in the fourth quarter.
Kie'arra Boone scored 10 points with eight rebounds for the Lady Wildcats. Tasia Richardson tallied eight points and hit 4-of-6 free throws down the stretch.
Tyquiana Strickland led the Lady Razorbacks with 11 points while Kiara Young and Blaire Bledsoe each scored eight. Texarkana fell to 6-9 on the season.
