The Union County Genealogical Society will host its regular meeting at 2 p.m. today at the Barton Library. Thelma Novick of El Dorado is expected to speak . The 97-year-old is the only bride left from the original group of 12 World War II G.I. brides in the area.


A town hall meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday in the Strong Community Center, 9400 Strong Highway, featuring state Sen. Trent Garner, R-El Dorado, and state Rep. Sonia Barker, R-Smackover. The event is free and open to the public.
